A few years ago, you might remember (no you won’t) that IBM made major project in using graphene (carbon) for transistors.  There was a problem with noise at small scale, as predicted by Hooge’s law, rendering the possibility of graphene replacing planar silicon MOSFETs as slim. However, IBM found that if you stack two meshes of graphene on topic of each other, the electric coupling suppresses noise.  Even more amazing, IBM just hit the highest cut-off frequency for any graphene device, an amazing 100 GHz.  Tunnel to read more.
