Currently Nintendo are winning the console war with close to 70 million Wii consoles sold worldwide, however this was not always the case. Infact over the last 10 years Nintendo home consoles have failed to make a huge impact with the N64 and Gamecube being comparative flops when compared to the success of the Playstation, Playstation 2 and the Xbox. The mistakes Nintendo made in the previous three generations of consoles were somewhat fatal to them then, however as a result of these mistakes Nintendo and their Wii console are tremendously successful. Aliens Vs Predator 2010 Review.

In 1999 Rebellion developed Aliens Vs Predator for the PC which when released went onto to become a cult hit with its exciting story and action packed multiplayer. Two years later a sequel; this time developed by Monolith was released, however it failed to live up to its predecessor. Now 10 years later Rebellion has returned with a new Aliens Vs Predator game. However it again fails to live up to its promise.

Unreal Engine 3.0, Is It Holding Back PC Gaming?

For years PC gaming was superior to that of home consoles but over the last 10 years this has changed. The rising power of consoles has helped them start to catch up graphically with PCs although they are still behind, a large proponent of this is the Unreal Engine 3.0, which is the groundwork for many games on this console generation, and as a result many PC ports use it. Bioshock 2 Review.

In 2007 2K studios released Bioshock, the spiritual successor to the System Shock franchise and while some criticised it for being too similar to System Shock 2 the game was a landmark title for this console generation, sadly Bioshock 2 cannot reach the heights of its predecessor and adds very little to the franchise feeling both familiar and slightly dated.
